Popular music video streaming service Vevo have announced an expansion of their service in app form, with an official release to Samsung’s smart TVs and connected Blu-ray player platforms.
The Vevo app, notable for offering over 75,000 music videos, live concert streams, exclusive programming and music video streaming channel Vevo TV, will offer its full service across the South Korean company’s home entertainment products, alongside usual features of genre groupings for songs.
Another ability earmarked by the American company was that of a user signing into their account to create and synchronise playlists made across all other Vevo platforms, claiming the process of customising the user experience is a simple and streamlined one despite being on the less functional format of a TV screen.
Following on from a release on Apple TV, the Vevo app will be compatible with Samsung’s line of smart TV and Blu-ray players released since 2012, with the service now ready to download in the USA and the UK, along with Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland and Spain.
The official Vevo blog post announcing the move wrote of their main selling points: “Today, we’re thrilled to announce VEVO is available on Samsung Smart TV. Continuing our efforts to bring VEVO experiences to the television, users can access our library of 75,000 HD music videos, exclusive original programming and live concert performances on Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-ray players. And, like all VEVO platforms, we’ve customized our new app to take advantage of all Samsung TV has to offer.”
